Investigative Reporter Litchfield, Conn. May 28, 2004 -- Richard Murzin, a retired Hartford police detective, and Andy Thibault, an investigative reporter, have formed a company offering a full range of investigative services. Murzin worked homicide, narcotics and vice cases during a 20-year career in law enforcement. His special assignments included crime scene investigations, the burglary squad, auto theft, robbery and the intelligence division. Murzin is an expert witness in narcotics trafficking and investigation. He also served in the Marine Corps and the Air Force. A staff officer for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Murzin is an instructor in vessel examinations. He has received awards for marksmanship and commendations from the Hartford police chief and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms. Thibault has reported on stories ranging from the cover-up of a hit-and-run death in New London and the Young & Rubicam "Come Back to Jamaica" Kickback Scandal to the Independent Counsel investigation of a U.S. Commerce Secretary, the Woody Allen sex abuse case and the pipe bombing at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta. He
teaches journalism and communications at the University of Hartford and is
the author of books including Law & Justice in Everyday Life, The
12-Minute MBA For Lawyers and the forthcoming History of the Connecticut
State Police. Thibault's columns in The Connecticut Law Tribune have
won numerous awards. Recently he has reported on the cover-up of a
sexual assault at the Niantic jail.
